It's no secret that the livestock industry is made up of some incredible people. Trevor and Emily Kirkpatrick are two of the absolute best in the business. This couple has built Kirkpatrick Livestock from the ground up and offer exceptional customer service to the families they serve. Our family has been purchasing hogs from Kirkpatrick Livestock since 2019. We have learned so much from Trevor throughout the years. He helps the kids set goals to excel with their hog projects but more importantly sets them up to help them become better humans. Trevor has given us feeding advice, skin and hair tips, showmanship techniques, and countless pep talks throughout our time working with him. One child has now finished her show career and one has 3 years to go. We cannot thank Kirkpatrick Livestock enough for the time they have poured into our kids. We truly appreciate this family and value the skills they've helped to build in our kids.

Trevor started mentoring our daughter, Chloe, in the spring of 2019.  Trevor had previously been a showmanship judge at our county fair in 2017 and 2018, and in 2018 he chose Chloe as junior and master showmanship champion.  In his closing speech he mentioned how he mentored young  4-H'ers, and that she could show a pig for him any day. Chloe had previously experienced some success in the county market show, and showmanship, but as a family we were wanting to experience success at a higher level. We sent Trevor a facebook message reaching out for assistance, and it was the best decision we ever made regarding showing pigs.  Since 2019 he has helped to select pigs for Chloe, coached her in showmanship to improve her skills, helped her manage and make changes to feed rations on a weekly basis, taught her how to clip pigs, and provided advice for sick or injured pigs.  Chloe went from only showing pigs at the county level to showing in the OH pig circuit and a national show.  She has experienced a lot of success at these shows thanks to Trevor.  He has often been there to support her at shows and provide assistance and last minute advice. More important than show pig advice, Trevor has become an awesome mentor and role model to Chloe throughout her teen years, and he and his family have become great friends to our entire family.  

I first met Trevor in 2018 when he was the showmanship judge at my county fair. Following a comment he made after picking me as champion that day, my parents contacted him about placing a couple of pigs for us the following season. Trevor was immediately happy to help and has continued to do so with the same level of enthusiasm for five years now. Up until then, I had only ever shown pigs at my county fair, and I attended my first jackpot show the following summer. That was followed by several years of showing in the OH-Pigs jackpot circuit, winter circuit, and even at the national level. Each year Trevor helps me select my pigs, offers showmanship advice, adjusts feed rations weekly, clips my hogs before big shows, and provides any kind of other advice when needed.  Trevor has made me not only a much better showman, but person as well. He has helped me gain lots of knowledge and confidence, and has helped me make many valuable connections in the industry. He has been a very dedicated mentor and role model to me for many years now and has been a very big inspiration as I now mentor younger exhibitors in my county. My entire family is very proud to call Trevor and his family great friends of ours.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Cole Baker. We bought our first barrow from Kirkpatrick Livestock last year for our August Fair. We went to the open house and decided to bid on one that was selling through a live auction. Cole took our bid and bought the pig for us and brought him home for us. He was available to my son and myself for all questions we had throughout the duration of the project. Cole helped with showmanship and grooming tips and techniques. He was available to answer feeding and weight questions. Cole is such a nice and positive person to be around and someone you want your child to look up to and strive to be like. My son gained so much respect for Cole that he nominated him for the Levi Tysinger Adult Stockman Award, and Cole was granted this great honor. Cole has become a great friend to my son, and we look forward to working with him next year.

Working with Kirkpatrick Livestock has helped me grow as a person and an exhibitor! Not only do they raise elite livestock, but they are the best people! Trevor, Emily, and Owen make us feel like family. The quality runs deep within his herd. Trevor helps every step along the way with your projects, and will always push you to be your best.

Our family began our 4H journey with our oldest in 2018. My husband and I grew up showing livestock our whole childhood, but when the next generation decided to get involved, we knew we had been out of the game too long to play on the level we wanted to, without asking for help.

Trevor had judged showmanship at our county fair. We decided after that fair that we didn't want to "just show pigs at the county fair." We wanted higher quality, to learn all the ins and outs of feeding, skin care and showmanship. A friend told me Trevor helped families, so we reached out. He legit answered me within hours, and was at our house within a week. The rest is history. 

As Kirkpatrick Livestock has evolved the past 5 years we have been around, the quality of service, the mentorship of our children and our friendship with the Kirkpatrick family and their other show families is what it is all about. We appreciate the knowledge, and kindness extended to us by the whole team. As the boys got older, they have enjoyed being mentored not only by Trevor, but Cole has been great at reaching out, checking in, and making sure to connect with us at every show we go to. We appreciate the Kirkpatrick brand for all they bring to the youth in this industry. We look forward to continued growth and future memories with Trevor, Emily and Owen.
